Saturn in the Twelfth So Jon was born when Saturn was just peeking over the horizon. This indicates a saturnine character -- perhaps a little gloomy, maybe even introverted. It’s possible that Jon is a serious kind of person. Gauquelin found that scientists and physicians ‘chose’ to be born when Saturn was close to an angle like this. The Moon in the Twelfth But then we have the Moon. Gauquelin found that writers and politicians ‘chose’ to be born when it was close to an angle. He found that people with a prominent Moon (ahem) were friendly, imaginative, and popular (amongst other things). In regular astrology, the Moon represents emotions. I think there is a clear link here -- writers and politicians have to speak their mind and pass on their feelings to get by. Also, the Moon was once associated with communication (Mercury has stolen its thunder somewhat). Maybe Gauquelin found a bridge between traditional astrology and neo-astrology here. (I know Jon isn’t a writer, as such, but these placements don’t determine career -- they simply give a person the character traits associated with such a vocation.) Jupiter in the Twelfth Jupiter, the planet of the extrovert (Gauquelin associated it with actors), is also in Jon’s Twelfth House. But so is introverted Saturn. Does that make Jon a walking contradiction? I don’t think so. It’s clear that Jon has a mixture of both traits. If there is such a thing as a cautious extrovert (and I think there may be) Jon with his Jupiter/Saturn combo is a good example. Sun conjunct Midheaven There’s one more heavenly body I’ve highlighted on there (in blue). It’s the Sun. Gauquelin could find no indication that the Sun in a Plus Zone impacted character or vocation. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have an effect. Gauquelin may have been looking for the wrong traits -- he based his studies on a variety of astrological texts. Those texts may have completely misjudged what the Sun means astrologically. The Sun was conjunct the Midheaven (MC -- upper-culmination point) when Jon was born. Is this significant? I don’t think so. Many astrology reports and astrology books flag this up as a sign of future fame. I’ve not seen any evidence of this.  The Sun didn’t make Jon famous. But other placements in his chart may have.
