Cash For Clunkers Car List
Cash for Clunkers Car list is based on the necessities set forth in the Cash for Clunkers program (officially known as the Consumer Assistance to Recycle and Save Act, or else CARS) that was passed on June 24 2009, also published regulations issued through the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on July 24 2009.
We compiled Cash for Clunkers Vehicle list by searching the Edmunds.com vehicle database for models that contain a combined MPG of 18 mpg or less and for which at least one of the styles of that vehicle has an existing standard national trade-in True Market Value® price of $4,500 or else less. Therefore, Cash for Clunkers is possible that some styles of a model may well have a value higher than $4,500 and that the value of an exacting vehicle may be higher since it is in exceptional condition or has very low mileage.
Cash for clunkers car list also includes assured very large vans and work trucks for which the EPA does not issue MPG data, since they are eligible under the program irrespective of their MPG. Also please note that nearly all vehicles that are model year 1989 or past have a trade in value of less than $4,500 and for that cause we have not included them on this Cash for clunkers list. Exceptions take in vehicles that had limited manufacture runs such as the 1984/86 Buick Regal T Type Turbo the 1985-89 BMW 6 Series 635CSi and the 1987-89 Porsche 911 Carrera – also most collector and exotic vehicles. If you have a 1984-89 model year motor vehicle, please make sure the CARS Vehicle Eligibility Guide to agree on whether your vehicle meets the eligibility necessities.
